  • “Coming Soon” Exposes How The Sinclair-Tribune Merger Hurts Consumers

Today, the Coalition to Save Local Media is announcing a new, national advertising campaign to highlight how the Sinclair Broadcasting-Tribune Media merger will stifle local and independent media voices and put greed ahead of local viewers, jeopardizing both localism and competition.

The ad, “Coming Soon,” can be viewed HERE.

“Television viewers across the country deserve to know what the Sinclair-Tribune merger would mean for them. The truth is this proposed merger will stifle localism and hurt an independent diverse media, while bringing fewer choices and higher prices for consumers,” said the Coalition to Save Local Media. “Sinclair-Tribune has failed to provide adequate justification that its mega-merger is in the public interest. This merger should be denied.”

“Coming Soon” highlights how Sinclair-Tribune would take over local news stations across the country and force these stations to run “must run” segments produced at its corporate headquarters over local programming. The proposed mega-merger would also result in fewer choices and higher prices for consumers. “Coming Soon” starts on national cable today and is backed by six-figures.
